Cette exposition, consacrée au travail d'Hisae Ikenaga, rassemble des oeuvres
réalisées il y a plus de huit ans, avant que l'artiste ne s'installe au Luxembourg.
La plupart des pièces sont en bois mais l'on retrouve aussi des pièces réalisées
dans d'autres matériaux. Les oeuvres sélectionnées permettent de revenir sur
le parcours d'Hisae Ikenaga, de comprendre les lieux qu'elle a occupés – très
différents de ceux qu'elle habite aujourd'hui – et les idées qu'elle a développées
et qui l'ont conduite vers ce sur quoi elle travaille à présent.
Il ne s'agit donc pas d'une rétrospective mais plutôt d'une exposition très personnelle
qui donne l'occasion à l'artiste de nous raconter son histoire à travers
ses oeuvres. L'espace du CAW, à l'origine une maison, se prête parfaitement
à cette expérience et permet de profiter pleinement du sentiment d'intimité
recherché.

Hisae Ikenaga. Née au Mexique d'une mère mexicaine et d'un père japonais,
Hisae Ikenaga a très tôt été exposée à la diversité culturelle. Son parcours
d'artiste l'a emmenée en Espagne et, il y a huit ans, au Luxembourg, où elle vit et
poursuit sa carrière artistique.
Elle a récemment été récompensée par le 1er prix « Art In Situ », organisé par
l'Ordre des Architectes et des Ingénieurs-Conseils du Luxembourg (OAI) en
collaboration avec l'association da Vinci et l'association Art contemporain, et
par le prix LEAP 2020 (Luxembourg Encouragement for Artist Price).

Diese Ausstellung ist der Arbeit von Hisae Ikenaga gewidmet ist und versammelt
Werke, die vor mehr als acht Jahren entstanden sind, bevor die Künstlerin
nach Luxemburg zog.
Die meisten Kunstwerke sind aus Holz, einige aber auch aus anderen Materialien.
Die ausgewählten Werke lassen uns auf Hisae Ikenagas Werdegang
zurückzublicken, die Orte verstehen, die sie bewohnt hat – die sich sehr von
denen unterscheiden, die sie heute bewohnt – sowie die Ideen, die sie entwickelt
hat und sie zu dem geführt haben, woran sie jetzt arbeitet.
Es handelt sich also nicht um eine Retrospektive, sondern vielmehr um eine
sehr persönliche Ausstellung, die der Künstlerin die Möglichkeit gibt, uns
ihre Geschichte durch ihre Werke zu erzählen. Die Räumlichkeiten des CAW,
was ursprünglich ein Haus war, eignen sich perfekt für diese Erfahrung und
erlauben uns, das angestrebte Gefühl der Intimität voll und ganz zu genießen.

Hisae Ikenaga wurde in Mexiko als Tochter einer mexikanischen Mutter
und eines japanischen Vaters geboren und kam schon früh mit der kulturellen
Vielfalt in Berührung. Ihr Weg als Künstlerin führte sie nach Spanien und
vor acht Jahren nach Luxemburg, wo sie lebt und ihre künstlerische Karriere
fortsetzt.
Vor kurzem wurde sie mit dem 1. Preis „Art In Situ“ ausgezeichnet, der vom
Ordre des Architectes et des Ingénieurs-Conseils du Luxembourg (OAI)
in Zusammenarbeit mit der Association da Vinci und der Association Art
contemporain organisiert wurde, sowie mit dem Preis LEAP 2020 (Luxembourg
Encouragement for Artist Price).

Dans la diversité des techniques qu'il manipule – dessin, peinture, sculpture, installation, vidéos et performances – Barthélémy Toguo cherche toujours à imprimer ses impressions poétiques et critiques sur le monde et les frictions politiques, culturelles et sociales qui le traversent. Il crée des images fortes et expressives qui encouragent le public à des prises de position éthiques.
L'œuvre Heimatlos place sur le devant de la scène toutes les personnes qui rejoignent le continent européen comme une terre d'exil pour finalement s'y retrouver « sans patrie ». Comme l'illustre l'artiste, si les crises migratoires sont synonymes de vies brisées pour les uns, ce sont aussi des instruments politiques et médiatiques pour les autres. Sa sculpture monumentale représente un tampon encreur, comme ceux servant à officialiser des documents administratifs, mais peut aussi évoquer l'ébauche d'une silhouette humaine.

Pour les 50 ans de la disparition de Pablo Picasso, 50 artistes contemporains sollicités pour participer à cette exposition, chacun avec un style, une technique, une sensibilité qui leur sont personnels, ont su exprimer ce que leur a inspiré cette immense personnalité.

Le lien rattachant Barbizon et Pablo Picasso à l'histoire de la peinture est encore accentué par le fait que l'artiste ait séjourné en 1942 à plusieurs reprises à Barbizon, et plus précisément dans la pension de famille Bouvard, devenue plus tard « Manoir Saint-Hérem ». Le commissariat de cette exposition a été confié à Jean-Michel Gout-Werner, professionnel du marché de l'art, et Jacques Simonin, collectionneur passionné, tous deux déjà à l'origine de l'organisation de l'exposition « L'Angélus a 150 ans », qui eut lieu également à Barbizon, en 2010.

Leur longue fréquentation du milieu de l'art contemporain, leur proximité avec de nombreux artistes et la connaissance de leurs travaux, ont permis d'obtenir un accord de participation enthousiaste d'une cinquantaine d'entre eux. Certains se sont confrontés au mythe picassien avec une œuvre spécialement conçue pour l'exposition quand d'autres présentent un travail plus ancien.

Vitality of the Young French Figurative Painting

Deployed for the first time in a transversal way on the two art centres, the MO.CO. and the MO.CO. Panacée, the Immortelle exhibition offers a new and ambitious panorama of young French figurative painting.

At the MO.CO., emblematic artists of the French scene, born from 1970 to the early 80s, will be presented. The generous and sensitive exhibition intends to pay homage to painting, in its physical, materialist, erotic and romantic aspects.

At the MO.CO. Panacée, the new generation of the mid-80s and 90s offers a plural vision of the future of figurative painting through a revisitation of the great traditional genres mixed with the contribution of contemporaneity and conceptual issues.

The Kunstverein Dillingen e.V. will be exhibiting works by JKB Fletcher from 29 January 2023.

The 40-year-old artist is showing new works in Dillingen: mountain views and sea horizons, that foreground the sublimity, grandeur and vastness of nature.

Yann Tonnar holds an MA in Visual Culture from Middlesex University in London. After working with analog photography, he devoted himself to documentary film-making with a focus on social and cultural themes. The artistic director of the acclaimed TV series routwäissgro, he now runs his own production company, Manufactura Pictures, and serves as president of the Lëtzebuerger Filmakademie.

"Stardust is a book about the relationship between humans and the Cosmos, it concentrates on the transition from the innermost wishes to the collective Dream and conversely, from the infinite small to the infinite big. It shows traces of an intimate contact with the exterior world. I present this theme with unique stories and portraits of individual personalities. I was very passionate in my mission to become acquainted with their different points of view, their particular knowledge, and the secrets and unlikely stories that seemed to be hiding behind every door that opened up to me. Specialists of astronomy, cosmonauts and simple inhabitants, accepted my presence and were good leads in the exploration of my research."
